Sponsorship won't cost and arm or leg – or will it?
Paul Vickers Shekinah construction manager is taking part in the Upper Tamar Lake Triathlon Challenge on Sunday 29th April 2012. We are approaching companies to see if they would like to sponsor one of his arms or legs and his head...we are asking companies to donate just £100 for one of his limbs or head and we will ensure Paul has a copy of the company logo on the chosen limb. He is working desperately hard in his training as he has to swim 750m then cycle 20km then run 5k for the event. Certini have kindly helped Paul to get his special high spec bicycle equipment and if you are keen to support Paul in this amazing feat simply go to www.charitygiving.co.uk/paulvickers to sponsor him. Re-Store Vintage Charity Shop Our charity shop hosts an Art in the community window by Tilly Robinson for the week beginning 6th February. Tilly, a sixth form art, photography and fashion student from Lipson Community College will transform our large window space into a creative installation. Plymouth Community Homes Shekinah are delighted to announce that Plymouth Community Homes have chosen us as one of their charities of the year. Over the coming year we will work closely with them to help raise the profile of our work with their staff as well as vital funds. Gill Martin the Corporate Service Director at PCH said "The staff at PCH all voted on which charities to support and this year we are going to help Shekinah and the Plymouth Food Bank – both very worthy and vital causes for the city. We look forward to working with the team at Shekinah and hope to be able to make a real difference to many lives this year." Re-work takes off in TorbayFollowing the launch of Re-work in Torbay at the end of 2011 companies have been coming forward to offer their support and positions for our clients. The new social enterprise which is part funded by Torbay Development Agency will enable us to find our clients based in Torbay work at a time when finding employment is at its most challenging. Any local business can benefit from re:work, its considerable cost saving and ongoing candidate support and training programme. For further information contact Soo at Shekinah on 01752 223185.Shekinah receives Legacy windfallWe were delighted to hear that an elderly lady very kindly thought of our work and clients and left us a legacy. This is of course wonderful news for us but we are sad that we are unable to thank her for her kindness and generosity. The donation will make such a huge difference to the Drop In Centre in Plymouth where we are seeing an ever increasing number of clients coming to us for support, food and advice. Shekinah will be launching a Will Week campaign to coincide with Will Week 14 – 16 May 2012 |
