Many people attended the launch of the new shop last month.  This new Retro vibe store on Union Street Plymouth offers its buyers a touch of nostalgia and meeting all modern fashions sells the most amazing retro clothes.  The launch event which was sponsored by Wills Company was a huge success thanks to all who attended and to all who donate clothes for us to sell.

A huge thanks also must go to Terry Clarke for organising yet another spectacular New Years Day Swim at Wembury where over 100 people took part and helped to raise over £500 for the Shekinah Drop In Centre fantastic. Terry is now training to run the Plymouth Half Marathon for us – what a brilliant supporter.

Many churches thought of Shekinah and the rough sleepers and homeless we care for over the Christmas period with many congregations across the region raising vital funds and also sending us much needed Food and Clothing – Thanks to everyone for your continued kindness and support.

Re:work is launched in Torbay
Shekinah are proud to have launched the South West’s first socially responsible employment service.   This agency will support people into employment with local companies.   Having successfully run this scheme from Plymouth Soo Brizell Hogg explains that Re:work provides a credible opportunity for Torbay businesses to adopt a more creative approach to recruitment.   We strongly believe in levelling the playing field to provide equal opportunity across communities through training and wrap around support.

Plymouth Community Homes
We are delighted to announce that Plymouth Community Homes have chosen Shekinah Mission as their charity of the year.   They plan to arrange events with their staff throughout the year to help raise vital funds for us.    We are very much looking forward to working with them over the coming year.
