Re:store, Shekinah's Vintage Charity Shop

With refreshed branding and layout, Re:store is the new incarnation of Shekinah's charity shop on Union Street. Its work will continue to support the invaluable services provided by the Drop-In Centre.

Re:store is a community store and creative hub, featuring unique vintage items alongside wearable clothing at affordable prices.

Re:store is keen to develop links with artistic and creative minds in the community and support new initiatives and ideas and energy.

Our aim is to become an increasingly thriving, progressive and successful model of socially engaged business that contributes to the work of Shekinah and the community.

How your unwanted items help Shekinah

  • The shop provides a retail training ground for service users before they take the giant step into mainstream work.
  • Good quality clothes kit out service users living in our hostels
  • Suits, smart clothing and footwear make great interview outfits for service users on our employability programmes
  • Unwanted Items (e.g. kitchen utensils, mirrors, curtains etc.) help us make a client’s first house, a home.
  • After they are sorted, cleaned, steamed, sized and hung, your items are sold to residents in St Peter Ward of Plymouth – one of the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods in England.
  • Profits make a contribution towards funding the Drop in Centre.
  • Clothing and bedding is provided to the street homeless

What we need:

  • Reliable volunteers to work in the shop
  • Volunteers with creative flair and retail experience to maximise window displays
  • Lots of good quality donations!  Have a clean out for Shekinah!
  • Help with transport to pick up donations (individuals and businesses).
  • Enthusiastic people who can help drive up donations through their school, church or business.
  • Designers who can help us capture the imagination of the community

Opening Hours:
