The
photographs below (87 in total but well worth viewing) were taken during
November and December 2008. They show the wide range of activities covered
by the various Shekinah Mission projects, from the Drop-In Centre to
the Steady Work Employment schemes. Just in case you wonder when you
come across them, there are some photographs of a visit by a local theatre
group called My Space. There was no rough stuff and a good time was
enjoyed by all! My Space is a collaborative project between the Plymouth College of Art and Design and Theatre Royal Plymouth. Working with and led by the creative vision of users of the Shekinah Mission and residents of Plymouth Foyer and the Ship Hostel, My Space has enabled people who have experiences of homelessness to engage in performance and visual art, improve their confidence and self esteem, and to communicate their own perspectives on the city in which they live. |
